The beauty of studio pottery lies in the craftsmanship and care these makers put into creating their art.
Buying art ceramics is an affordable and eco-friendly way to add unique design accents to your home or interiors project.
Studio pottery is a real passion of mine. It is made by a single artist or a small collaborative team in limited quantities.
One of the things I love about studio pottery is the unique nature of the art form. Each piece is wonderfully different thanks to their handcrafted nature, rather than mass-produced in a factory.
I have both decorative ceramic art pieces and more practical pottery and homewares available.
The term studio pottery encompasses a huge range of styles and price points meaning there is something for everyone and is becoming increasingly popular. My number one rule is pick a style you love and you'll be happy.
I have pieces ranging from under £10 up to a few hundred pounds, but at auction it can go into the thousands. The current world record for a single piece of studio pottery was set in 2021 when a Hans Coper piece - sold for £651,700!
The West Country (Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, and Gloucestershire) has a long tradition with studio pottery, dating back to the 1920s and it is still thriving today.
Based in Exeter, I'm lucky to be right in the heart of the tradition, and I stock an extensive range of local wares including Honiton, Poole, Tremaen and St. Ives pottery.
Although based in the West Country, I stock studio pottery from all over the UK (and beyond!).
So whether it is a piece of Alan Caiger-Smith piece from Aldermaston, Berkshire or a vintage Marianne Cole art vase inspired by the Australian outback, it can all be found at Wand Vintage.
These are just a few of the beautiful studio pottery pieces available at Wand Vintage.
